I know that bloggers can be seen as a weird type of breed because we like to read a lot, write even more, and then on top of all that give ourselves some type of award for random stuff like being new to the blogging world!
I have been recently nominated by Lissy, an exceptional young blogger with an amazing heart and values, to receive The Liebster Award. (If you haven’t checked this girl out and would like some inspiration then I encourage you to do so by the link above!)
- Acknowledge the blogger that nominated you and link back to their blog.
- Give 11 random facts about yourself and answer their 11 questions
- Nominate 11 bloggers
- Notify them
- Give them 11 questions to answer
This type of award is given to bloggers by other bloggers in recognition, to almost advertise for one another you could say, and in hopes to receive some new visitors. Liebster originates as a german word that means a number of different things, such as “good, kind, and valued”. Since, I have decided to accept this award and join the trend, this post may seem a little different then my normal posts.
With each award the blogger should answer the 11 questions their nominating blogger chose for them and include 11 facts about themselves. Why 11… good question, I was wondering the same thing too but lets get started!
What inspired you to start blogging //
Hmmm, it was almost like blogging found me because as a college kid another hobby is the last thing I needed. I was inspired to start blogging though because I figured this could be a hobby I could keep forever (if I wanted that is). Plus, I kept hearing about people making a career out of it, monetizing their blog with big companies to sponsor their products (aka get free stuff) or earn commission, and I was sold. Easy money… so I thought.
Once I actually started, I found out that blogging is so much more than what I expected it to be and honestly a lot of work. Luckily, I love work and have fallen in love with the journey and atmosphere blogging offers.
When you’re not blogging, what are you likely to be doing //
I am a full-time student (which means a lot of studying), and part-time worker at the gym (UT’s REC Center). Most days it feels like the other way around though because I swear I LIVE at the gym. With averaging around 20 hours every week at work and then adding in the time I spend working out, the REC becomes a familiar place.
If you would have a superpower, what would it be and why //
Teleportation, because my one goal in life is to travel and see the rest of the world. So with this power I would save a ton of time… and money (I’m still just a broke college kid lol).
Do you have any pets? If yes, what is the name of it? If no, what would you name it and what animal would it be //
I currently live in a dorm room at college so I do not have any pets but if I did have a pet right now it would be a fish and I would name it, Bubbles.
What is your favorite movie/book and why //
Book: Can I say the Bible…? Because it is honestly the only book I have made time to read in a while. The Bible is such a great read because God wrote it and gave it to us as a guide to this life! When you open the scripture you can be sure that anything you read will be applicable in your life currently; which, is just amazing that the same pains and sufferings from thousands of years ago still happen today.
Movie: Who can simply pick just one “favorite movie.”
If you were given a date with a celebrity, who would it be with //
I am blessed to go on many dates with a celebrity already… well, maybe he isn’t a celebrity but I can’t say I would want anyone else.
How many colors has your hair been in? //
Well, my mother is actually a hairdresser so it is not that weird for me to get highlights or low-lights whenever I want. However, the one dramatic color change I did sophomore year was dyed my hair completely platinum blonde.
What is your worst fear?
Commitment. Commitment in relationships, in making big life decisions, sometimes I even have a hard time committing on a color to paint my nails…
Why commitment? Humans are a proud species, I can’t speak for you but for me it can be pretty challenging to be vulnerable with people and manage my time for new commitments. Time goes by so fast and the older I get the quicker it seems to go and theres always that what if pursuit of finding “something better.” For example, on the weekends I normally have a hard time committing to plans with my friends or anybody just because I would hate for a “something better” plan to come up and have to miss out.
All these factor into my issue with commitment but my real fear is from letting my past predict the future.
I find it challenging to be in a relationship where either of us can walk away at any time. So, I was hurt in my past relationship but the fear I have now is more than just the thought of being hurt again. What scares me the most is having the power to hurt somebody else or make them feel those awful feelings that come with a breakup.
Do you prefer big cities or small towns? Why? //
I grew up in a small farm town and I use to think it was so awful for everybody to know everybody. Now that I am a little older and away at college, I gained a lot of appreciation for my hometown. I finally see that with a small town comes a close-knit community that is so supportive and genuinely hospitable.
If you remember I previously said that I would love to travel around the world and see what is all out there. I love my small town but I have never lived on a busy street, in a big city, so I can’t say which one I would prefer quite yet.
If you were to describe yourself with three words, what would it be?
Confident. Positive. Hard-working.
If you follow my Instagram @Claire_Idelle, then you know that recently I did an activity to get my friends and followers thoughts on how they would use one word to describe me. Beautiful (@karlint), Spontaneous (@abagley), Happy/Positive (@sid_nayy, @_donnasaur), Strong (@msperry96), and Confident (@caitlin_m97, @cafeasby, @lakin_brant) were some of the results.
If you could do anything for one day, what would you do?
Probably spend the day in Italy with my mom.
